Sandpoint Little League teams enjoying All-Star season

(Photo by CAROLINE LOBSINGER) Sandpoint fielded three All-Star teams this year, pictured here enjoying the 4th of July Parade. The 9-10 year-old team finished 3-3, despite scoring 61 runs and allowing 41 in six games to finish fourth among seven teams. They beat Lewiston 14-1, Post Falls 14-4 and Coeur d’Alene Blue 16-3 in pool play, and lost 7-6 to Hayden and 9-6 to Lewiston in a pair of close losses. The Majors finished 0-4, scoring 14 runs and allowing 52 in a tough pool, including a 6-5 loss to Post Falls. The Junior All-Stars will be traveling to the Western Region Tournament in San Jose, California at the end of the month, and are hosting a spaghetti feed and auction fundraiser on July 14 at the Ponderay Events Center, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $7, and anyone is welcome to show up at the door.
