LOCAL BRIEFS: Lock named a Manning Award Star of the Week

Missouri quarterback Drew Lock was named one of eight Manning Award Stars of the Week on Monday. The Allstate Sugar Bowl selects the top eight quarterbacks around the nation each week and fans get the opportunity to vote on the quarterback at the end of the week.

Lock was 33-of-45 with 398 yards and 4 TDs against Wyoming on Saturday.

Missouri freshman to wrestle in Junior World Championships

Freshman Missouri wrestler Zach Elam will represent the United States at the 2018 Junior World Championships, the Missouri wresting Twitter announced Monday. Elam was the 2017 Junior Freestyle national champion and won two Missouri state championships in high school. The championships will take place in Trnava, Slovakia from Sept. 17-22.

Missouri wrestler competes in international tournament

Redshirt sophomore Jaydin Eierman competed in the Ziolkowski Memorial in Warsaw, Poland over the weekend. He went 1-1 in his international tournament debut and pinned the 2016 World Silver medalist Beka Lomtadze.

Missouri soccer lands recruit for 2020

Madilyn Hamline announced her verbal commitment to Missouri soccer in a tweet Monday. Hamline is currently a junior at Liberty High School in Kansas City.
