Flag violations versus NFL players’ protest

Print Article

With all the patriotic sensibility these days, Iím amazed at the those who display the American flag in ways that violate the standards set during the 77th Congress. The first: those who sandwich the flag in between to others, such as a confederate, a donít tread on me or Christian flag. The American flag can only be seen when the wind blows.

Next: the flags, some all black, but with a blue stripe, a red one, or green one running just under the star field symbolizing recognition of the police, firefighters and government agents respectively.

According to the VFW, this is a disrespectful alteration. So just think before you fly an altered flag. What other causes out there could alter the flag for their beliefs and splinter the unity of one nation and your precious respect for the flag as represented in those who oppose the NFL players actions?
