MONTANA – A man charged with forcibly entering the home of a Priest River woman before assaulting her has been detained in Montana.

Shane Bryan Johnson, 35, is being held in Montana on a $500,000 bond. Johnson is serving unrelated charges while awaiting extradition to Bonner County where he will be charged with burglary, kidnapping, rape, and aggravated battery

In a press release last June, Bonner County Sheriff’s Office officials described the events of June 16, 2020 as a home-invasion style rape. Johnson was deemed a person of interest by the FBI in 2020 and his movements were closely monitored before being detained, according to a BCSO press release on Sept. 8.
