Sandy is resting in the arms of Jesus.

After surviving a near-fatal accident in 2011 and suffering with severe back pain that was diagnosed as pancreatic cancer only three months before her death, Sandra Loraine Hlipala, 52, passed away on Oct. 27, 2012, at her home in Surprise, Ariz. She was surrounded by her sisters and friends.

She was very brave and still kept her sense of humor through it all.

She was born in Waynesburg, Pa., to John and Mary Zimmerman Hlipala in 1960. She lived in North Idaho since 1981 and in Arizona since 2011.

Sandy had a great sense of humor and loved life and her family and friends. She had a great impact on those who knew her and was very bold in her opinions. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her five sisters, Ellie Turiace Lund (Richard) and Juanita Deede (Bob) of Sun City West, Ariz., Shirley Keefer (Loren) of Newton Falls, Ohio, Linda Hlipala and Kelly Russell (Jim) of Sandpoint, Idaho; and her beloved doxie, Otto.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Kathy in 2009; and three brothers, Jimmy and Billy, both in 2010; and Sonny in September 2012.

Condolences can be made to any of the sisters’ Facebook pages.
