RATHDRUM — Junior setter Grace Hicks tallied 20 kills, 27 assists, 10 digs, five aces and three blocks, Taylor Ward 33 digs and five aces and Marina Breuner 30 set assists, five kills and four aces to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-2 showing on Saturday at the Lakeland Invitational.

The Bulldogs (6-5) beat Kellogg 25-12, 25-15, and Reardon 25-19, 25-18, and lost 25-20, 25-22 to Walla Walla and 25-12, 25-20 to 5A Post Falls.

Shelby Kluver continued her strong all-around play with 18 kills, nine digs and three aces, while Jenny Slaveck added five kills, 10 digs and two aces in the four matches.

Bulldog head coach Erin Roos experimented with some different lineups, and got a host of underclassmen good varsity experience, which can only benefit a program down the road.

“We had waves of greatness, and the good news is they are getting longer,” whose team is gearing up for a 4A IEL opener against Lakeland. “We will have one more nonleague match Tuesday against Ferris, to tune things up before our first league match Thursday.”

The Bulldogs host the Greater Spokane League’s Ferris Saxons today at 7 p.m.
