  • (Courtesy photos) The new Basketball School of Sandpoint has been averaging more 20 players per night in recent weeks, and will be offering a pair of skill sessions over the holidays at Sandpoint High School. Darren Laiche, a former Division 1 basketball player and former high school coach in Louisiana, will put on two sessions at SHS on Thursday, Dec. 28, and Tuesday, Jan. 2, from 5-6:30 p.m. for 7-10 year-olds, and 6:30-8 p.m. for 11-16 year-olds. Both nights will have a special price of only $10 per player. All players should bring their own basketball and water bottle. Players will learn a variety of basketball skills and drills, with a nightly shooting competition for a prize. For more info, visit www.BasketballSchoolofSandpoint.com.
