Stevens shoots 93 as local golfers tee it up at state

(Courtesy photo) Clark Fork senior Wade Stevens, pictured teeing off at Circling Raven earlier in the month, carded a first round 93 to finish tied for 33rd on the first day of the 2A Idaho State Golf Championships at Circling Raven Golf Course in Worley. Junior Brooke Stevens fired a 106 in her second straight trip to state, good enough for 19th place. Other local golfers in action included Sandpoint at-large golfers Lake Wilks, who shot an 80 in the 4A championships at Stoneridge, and teammate Nick Crowley, who shot 84 on the first day. Kody Salesky, the lone Priest River golfer, shot a 101 at the 3A tourney at Twin Lakes. Day two for the Wampus Cat, Bulldog and Spartan golfers is today.
