Sailing classes offered

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and the Sandpoint Sailing Association bring you this one of a kind personalized sailing instruction course for anyone 18 and older.

The course will be two hours long. The instructor will contact you before the week classes are held to discuss exact times and details. These classes will be taught on the Sandpoint Sailing Association’s Capri 18 boat. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn more about the adventure of sailing. All sessions meet at Windbag Marina, Fred’s Deck.

Session #1 registration deadline is June 10, with classes on June 18–21 from 8-11 a.m.

Session #2 registration deadline is July 8, with classes on July 16–19 from 3–6 p.m.

Session #3 registration deadline is Aug. 5, with classes on Aug. 13–16 from 3–6 p.m.

Fees are $120 per person and there is a multiple person discount.

n Advanced sailing for ages 10 and older

Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and the Sandpoint Sailing Association will also be offering an advanced sailing lesson for ages 10 to adult. Personal flotation devices are required for this class, but students should also be comfortable in deep water. Beginner adults are also welcome to register for this class.

The registration deadline for Session No. 1 is June 13. Class is Monday through Thursday, June 18-21 from noon to 2 p.m. Registration deadline for Session No. 2 is Aug. 8. Class is Monday thorugh Thursday, Aug. 13-16 from noon to 2 p.m.

The class fee is $39 per person ($4 city discount) and is all-inclusive. Participants are to meet at the Windbag Marina, Fred’s Deck.
