  • All-Reds post first win in Moscow The Sandpoint All-Reds Rugby team picked up its first ever win last weekend in Moscow, beating the host team 31-0. The team took 15 players down, and ended up going 1-3 against teams from Spokane and Moscow. Two of the Sandpoint players picked up their first try, a five point score which is followed by a two-point kick, in the far more wide open 7s instead of the normal 15 players. “They started to put it together, realized that in sevens you’re running in open space and only have to make one guy miss,” said head coach Dan Chamberlain. “Moscow almost scored twice, but like in football, near the goal line it gets harder to score.” Sandpoint will host five teams on Saturday, with action starting at 11 a.m. at Great Northern Field. There will be a barbecue on site, with $2 from every plate sold benefiting the All-Reds. The team wished to thank Idaho Forest Group for buying the remembrance jerseys for this season.
