A host of instructors and volunteers taught the youth shooters gun safety at the event sponsored by the Bonner County Sportsmen’s Association, Brownells, and the NRA, and supported by many local businesses and individuals. Instructor Kathy Konek said each shooter aimed at three targets, taking 10 shots at each, and was asked that the biggest highlight was. “The smiles when the kids were successful,” she described. “Some of the younger kids had never shot before. They’d hit it and hear the sound, and say ‘I did that.’” The range is open all summer, see the schedule on www.cityofsandpoint.com.
