Sailing class offered for youth beginners

SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Parks and Recreation and the Sandpoint Sailing Association will be offering a junior sailing class for beginners ages 10-18 years-old, on Monday through Thursday, July 16-19 from 9-11 a.m. each day at the Windbag Marina.

Students will learn sailing and safety basics and then head out on the water for lots of hands-on experience. Personal flotation devices are required for this class, but students should also be comfortable in deep water.

The class fee is $39 per person ($4 city discount) and class fees are all-inclusive. A swim test will be administered at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 13 at the City Beach Lifeguard headquarters.

The registration deadline is July 11, so act quickly to guarantee your spot.
