Beer Fest to honor community’s vets

SANDPOINT — The community’s veterans will be celebrated at the year’s third and final VFW Beer Fest, being held Saturday, Oct. 12.

Not only is it a chance for local veterans to get together with their comrades, it also a chance to learn more about the Veterans of Foreign Wars, enjoy great beer, have a good time.

The VFW Beer Fest will take place from 3-6 p.m. at the beer hall, 220 Cedar St.

All are welcome to participate — both veterans and non-veterans alike. Those who attend can enter to win an Attleboro knife (must be present to win).

The first beer is free for all veterans, courtesy of Sandpoint VFW Post 2453, and the Sandpoint VFW will pay first year’s membership for any eligible veteran.

Mick Duff’s Brewing Company will be the third sponsor for this veteran event. The 219 Lounge supported this event in June, with Matchwood Brewing Company as a host for the inaugural Beer Fest last February.

The post’s aim is to increase membership so we can continue to help our community, meet new friends and have a good time while enjoying some great beer.
