A gift of Christmas music

(Courtesy photo) Pictured are members of the Pend Oreille Chorale and Orchestra in concert at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 601 S. Lincoln, Sandpoint. Two free concerts will be presented with the first being held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13; and the second at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. Opening the evening will be the Selkirk Brass welcoming everyone with traditional Christmas music. The chorale follows with five selections covering several centuries, including international carols and 20th century classical pieces. The second half begins with a Mozart piano quintet, and then the orchestral part of the program, featuring pieces from the ‘Nutcracker Suite.’ Closing the concert will be a Christmas composition for chorale and orchestra combined by Mark Reiner.
