This class is free and open to anyone who serves or works in and around an establishment that sells an alcoholic beverage, including managers, bartenders, servers and security personnel.

The class will be held Thursday, May 16, from 12-3 p.m. at Sandpoint City Hall, 1123 Lake St., in the council chambers.

This class focuses on proven intervention techniques to help alcohol seller/servers manage associated risks. Topics include:

• How to spot minors

• How to prevent sales to minors

• State alcohol service law review

• How to detect fake and altered ID’s

• Prevention of over pouring

• Overview of liabilities

All Sandpoint businesses who serve alcohol are encouraged to send their employees to the class. The TIP classes are proven to minimize property damage, prevent intoxication, protect businesses and owners’ investment, mitigate fines and administrative actions against a business’ liquor license, help business owners establish a legal defense and stay in compliance with state regulations.
