Runners rally for the Lost in the 50's aspirin
SANDPOINT — Under gray and wet skies, 127 hale and hearty runners gathered on Bottle Bay Road to run for the coveted aspirin awards as part of the Lost in the 50's weekend on Sunday, May 22.
The 5-kilometer fun run was half of the aspirin rally consisting of a vast field of serious runners, joggers and walkers of all ages.
The unique trophies went to the following four recipients: The fastest male runner was Bryan Shultz who turned in a time of 17 minutes, 4 seconds; the fastest female runner was Jane Hewett (18:22); the youngest runner finishing under his own power was Brandon McCracken, age 4 (54:32); and the Geritol Award for the oldest participant went to Vivienne Rick, age 81.
