Les was born on Aug. 11, 1918, in Saskatchewan, Canada, to John and Clara Renneberg. He was schooled in Cudworth, Saskatchewan, Canada, and moved to New Prague, Minn., in 1940.

Mr. Renneberg entered the United States Army in 1942. Coming from Canada, he was an avid hockey player, playing hockey on Army teams in Camp Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo. On Nov. 27, 1947, Les married Marjorie Ambroz in St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg, Minn. They lived in New Prague a short time, operating the West End Bowling Alleys there. They moved to Minneapolis where he managed Buster's, downtown Minneapolis, for more than 30 years. After retirement, they moved to Sandpoint in 1984.

Les was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars in New Prague, serving as vice commander in Post No. 5145.

He enjoyed bowling, traveling, reading, and watching all sports, especially hockey. He was a loving father, always cheerful, happy, and had a gentle smile for everyone.

As a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie Renneberg of Sandpoint, Idaho; two sons, Robert Jr. (Kathy) Renneberg of Bellingham, Wash., and Steven (Meri) Renneberg of Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Lynda (James) Wandler of Sandpoint and Nancy (Thomas) Weherle of Sandpoint; four grandchildren Anica Wandler, Britta and Ketti Weherle, and Bobbi Jo Renneberg; step-grandchildren, extended family members, nieces and nephews; a brother, Jim Renneberg of Menahga, Minn.; and four sisters, Bernice Tacheny, Ione Doane, Dorothy Alstad and Joan Hirmer, all of Minneapolis.
