NOTICE OF SCHOOL TRUSTEE ELECTION

DECLARATION OF

CANDIDACY

Lake Pend Oreille School District No. 84

Bonner County, Idaho

Public Notice is hereby given according to law, and the requisite action of the Board of Trustees of Lake Pend Oreille School District No. 84, Bonner County Idaho, that the annual school trustee election will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2005. Candidates interested in filing a declaration of candidacy must file not later than 5:00 p.m. on April 15, 2005.

Only those qualified electors residing in Trustee Zone No. 5 may declare candidacy for a Zone No. 5 trustee position. The purpose of said election shall be to elect one trustee who resides within Trustee Zone No. 5 to serve for a period of one year from the date of the annual meeting of the school district next following the election.

Trustee Zones No. 5 is generally described as follows:

TRUSTEE ZONE NO. 5:

Beginning at a point on the north shore of Lake Pend Oreille where the shoreline intersects with the east line of Section 29, T57N, R2W thence north 1 1/2 miles to the NW corner of the SW 1/4 of Section 21, T57N, R2W thence east 1 mile to the NW corner of the SW 1/4 of Section 22, T57N, R2W thence north 1 1/2 miles to the NW corner of Section 15, T57N, R2W thence east 1 1/4 mile to the intersection of the west shoreline of Lake Pend Oreille thence south and west around said shoreline approximately 4 miles to the point of beginning.

Declaration of Candidacy must be filed with the Clerk of the Board of Trustees not later than 5:00 p.m. on the fifth Friday prior to the day of election. Each declaration of candidacy must bear the name of the candidate, state the term for which declaration of candidacy is made, and bear the signature of not less than five (5) school district electors resident of the trustee zone of which the candidate is resident.

As provided by Idaho Code, Section 33-502A no write-in vote shall be counted unless a declaration of intent has been filed with the District Clerk indicating that the person desires the office and is legally qualified to assume the duties of school trustee if elected. The declaration of intent of a write-in candidate shall be filed not later than fourteen (14) days before the day of election.
