Holiday lights enhance community's festiveness

| December 4, 2006 8:00 PM

To whoever decorated the Community Center with all the colorful lights and all the rest of the trees on First and Fifth avenues, thank you so much. After our recent snowstorm earlier in the week, I found myself at the end of an 11-hour straight on through drive eager to get back home to Sandpoint from Boise, and was it ever magical coming into Sandpoint at 8 p.m. And, yes, lights on the trees on the Long Bridge, too, were amazing against the backdrop of a dark sky as were the lights on the white house on the corner where Highway 95 becomes downtown's First Avenue.

Sandpoint is surely a very special place to live and work. Many thanks to those who help with the twinkling holiday decorations that enhance our small town-ness.
