| December 12, 2006 8:00 PM

CLARK FORK — Cassie Scheffelmaier had a game-high 22 points, and Hannah Nyrop added 13 as Kootenai shot their way to a 55-31 North Star League victory over host Clark Fork on Tuesday night.

Clark Fork (2-6, 0-3) was able to keep the game close for most of the first half before the Warriors (7-0, 1-0) erupted for three three pointers in the last minute of the first half to build a comfortable lead which they would hold all night.

"They're tough, they move the ball well and they're great shooters," said Cats' coach Dexter Vogel of the undefeated Warriors.

Bailey Hewitt had a monster game, stuffing the stat sheet to the tune of nine points, eight rebounds, seven steals and six assists to lead the Cats in the losing effort.

"She worked extremely hard and pushed the ball," said Vogel of his point guard. "She took it upon herself to take the game over."

Mandy Martin had another strong game inside, tallying 11 rebounds to go with eight points, and Megan Hess added eight for the Cats.

Clark Fork is at the Newport Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
