It's time for a change at Idaho Legislature

| March 27, 2006 8:00 PM

This week has given us another example of Republican arrogance at the Idaho Legislature. Sen. John Goedde threatened a potential political opponent to get him out of the race for Goedde's seat. Now that's something you would have expected from John Gotti, but from an Idaho legislator?

This is, unfortunately, consistent with the Republican decisions to hold closed meetings, away from the public and the press in violation of Idaho's constitution. It is also consistent with the way they run roughshod over the legislative process, doing whatever they please because they can. When you control 80 percent of the seats, it's easy to think you can ignore the opposition, but worse than that, they ignore the people of Idaho.

That's why they refused to expel miscreant senator, Jack Noble last year.

It's clearly time for a change.
