VVA secures $2,200 toward Stand Down

SANDPOINT — Local Vietnam Veterans Chapter 890 has raised $2,230 toward a $10,000 goal to purchase food for its upcoming Stand Down.

The money is needed to purchase food baskets and supply one hot meal for an estimated 500 to 1,000 veterans. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 890 of Sandpoint is sponsoring the Stand Down.

The event will take place Saturday, July 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bonner County Fairgrounds.

Donations have been received from: Mr. and Mrs. David R. Wall, $200; Mr. and Mrs. John Freyer, $20; Concord Financial, Inc., $2,000; and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Greenwood, $10.

All contributions are fully-tax deductible. Send contributions to: VVA 890, P.O. Box 2014, Sandpoint ID 83864. If you would like a receipt for our contribution, send a note with your contribution and a receipt will be returned accordingly.

The chapter will run run regular articles in the Daily Bee listing contributors’ names. If you do not want your name, please include a note indicating so with your donation.
