Patricia Joyce Smith, 60

Patricia Joyce Smith, 60, passed away at her home in Cocolalla, Idaho, on Tuesday, June 24, 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Sacramento Memorial Lawn Chapel in Sacramento, Calif. Burial will follow at Sacramento Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Pat was born on July 13, 1947, in Sacramento to Euel and Opal Keith. She grew up and attended schools in Rio Linda, graduating from Rio Linda High School in the class of 1965.

Pat worked for the dtate of California in the Department of Consumer Affairs as an analyst where her just and harmonious attitude allowed her to help many people. At her 20-year class reunion she reconnected with her classmate Larry Smith and the couple married Dec. 31, 1986, in Elverta, Calif. Pat and Larry retired from their jobs in 2002 and moved to North Idaho where they built their retirement home in Cocolalla.

Pat loved her family, she was an inspirational matriarch. She could be ornery, in a good way, and was very loving, caring, outgoing, and beautiful. She was a great woman, mom, grandma, sister, and aunt.

Her hobbies included her favorite pass time, shopping; also her love for jewelry, movies, and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Smith of Cocolalla, Idaho; three sons, Richard Lawson of Cocolalla, Kenneth Lawson of Cocolalla, and Anthony Lawson (Maggi) of Rio Linda, Calif.; two grandchildren, Austin Lawson-Thrasher of Cocolalla and Landon Lawson of Rio Linda, Calif.; four sisters, Margaret (Joe) Cordeiro of Hyannis, Maine, Barbara Reef of Citrus Heights, Callif., Katie (Doug) Tedrick of Stafford, Va., and Charlotte Smith of Lincoln, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Euel Dean Keith.
