Strikers U10 team claims championship

SANDPOINT - The Sandpoint Strikers U10 Boys Red team clinched the District 1 soccer championship with a 7-1 season record, beating out teams from Post Falls, Lakeland, Coeur d'Alene, Moscow and Lewiston for the title. Coach Brice Filippini was especially proud of the young athletes' determination and perseverance, never giving up despite several highly competitive matches where the team fought hard to come back from behind and win.

The district champion title is particularly impressive given that this was the young teams' rookie season, and the majority of the players' first season ever playing competitive soccer. The Strikers scored an impressive 23 goals in eight games to secure their spot as district champs.
