Lakeland edges SHS, 4-3

RATHDRUM — Gaige Gray drove a single into right field with one out in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Hawks past the Bulldogs in a 4A Inland Empire League game.

Sandpoint loaded the bases in the fifth inning, but Lakeland reliever Kostas Garcia was able to strike out two and force a pop-up to get out of the inning without further damage.

Nick Halpin hit a two-run single in the top of the fifth for the Bulldogs (4-4), who also got eight strikeouts from starting pitcher Patrick Anthony.
