Caroline Lovell Vincent, 95

Caroline Lovell Vincent, 95, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Caroline was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having many teaching positions teaching children of all ages for many years.

She was born in Oak City, Utah, the ninth child of thirteen to Joseph William Lovell and Caddie Roper.

During the summer of 1934, she met Reed Claude Vincent when he came to Oak City with the Civilian Conservation Corps. After a brief courtship, they were married in the Salt Lake City, Utah, LDS temple on Oct. 4, 1934.

Their married life took them to Salt Lake City and then to Woodburn, Ore., where she worked for Birdseye Food for several years. In 1971 they moved to Sandpoint, where they helped manage a dairy farm with their son.

Caroline enjoyed gardening and spent many hours working in the family garden. She also spent a great deal of time doing family history. Other interests included crocheting, reading, quilting, writing letters, and writing in her journal. She has kept a journal since she was 12 years old.

After 47 years of marriage, Reed passed away in 1981.

She is survived by her four children,; Reed Lavell (Darlene) of Sandpoint, Grant (Wilma) of Evanston, Wyo., Joseph (Carol) of St. George, Utah, and Carol Jean Meyers (Alan) of Coos Bay, Ore.; 18 grandchildren, and 59 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Zella Howard, Ogden, Utah. She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Alvin, William Clisbee, Reed, Rulon, Allen, Lem and Thurman; and four sisters, Lydia, Martha, May, and Wilma.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at the LDS church on Schweitzer Cutoff Road with a viewing prior at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the South Jordan Memorial Park 1055 W. 10650 S. South Jordan, Utah.
