Iran is a lesser threat to us than Congress

| April 1, 2012 7:00 AM

According to Ron Paul, 40,000 new laws went into effect in the U.S. last year. Most of them cost money and/or took away some of our liberties. In 1946, when they began keeping the Federal Register, to document the federal government’s activity, it was 2,600 pages. Last year, it was 82,000 pages.

Now the recently passed Trespassing Bill (HR 347) criminalizes protests at political events, the National Defense Authorization Act allows the government to detain and torture American citizens without due process and a recent executive order expands the president’s martial law authority. Enough already!

It’s beginning to look like a nuke in the hands of Iran is a lesser threat to our freedom than a pen in the hands of Congress!
