Bulldogs down Lumberjacks; on road at Lakeland tonight

ST. MARIES — Jackson Olin scored a team-high 19 points to lead Sandpoint to a 64-54 win over St. Maries in nonleague boys basketball Tuesday night at St. Maries High School.

Matthew Burgstahler added 11 points, Adam Couch 10 and Nick Nelson nine as the balanced Bulldogs (4-6) used a 20-10 third quarter advantage to blow the game open.

“They were more aggressive than we were,” St. Maries coach Craig Wicks said of Sandpoint. “They were ready to play tonight and we weren’t.”

Satchel Schetzle scored 21 points for the Lumberjacks (5-2).

Sandpoint plays at Lakeland tonight and Moscow on Saturday in two pivotal 4A North road games.
