SANDPOINT — Local nonprofit Mystic Farm Wildlife Refuge could find a rewarding combination in Facebook and Toyota for the second time this year.

After winning a truck from the auto company’s “100 Cars For Good” initiative, Mystic Farm is a candidate in a Parker Toyota donation campaign where Facebook users select the beneficiaries. The four nonprofits that receive the largest number of votes will be awarded a portion of a $23,000 donation — $8,000 for first place, $7,000 for second place, $5,000 for third place and  $3,000 for fourth place.

The contest is running throughout the month of September. To participate, simply log into or register for Facebook and navigate to Parker Toyota’s page (www.facebook.com/parkertoyota). Before you can participate in the vote, you need to “like” the business by hitting the appropriate button near the top of the profile. After that, the poll should become visible as the first posting in the left-hand column. At that point, simply select your chosen organization from the list.

In addition to Mystic Farm, there are plenty of worthy charities up for consideration in the dealership’s donation campaign. The Anna Schindler Foundation, Idaho Drug Free Youth, the Spokane Humane Society, Cup of Cool Water, Post Falls Senior Center, Hospice of North Idaho, Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho, First Covenant Church and Kootenai Humane Society are all in the running.
