Letter filled with errors of fact and conclusion

| December 3, 2013 6:00 AM

Lee Santa’s recent letter suffered from errors of fact and conclusions. The GOP/tea party not only did not engineer the government shutdown, neither has any capability to do so.

Obama, not ever liking opposition to his opinions, had and exercised his ability to shut down selective portions of the government, each portion, designed to maximize the inconvenience to those most likely to be GOP/tea party members — witness “open” national parks, such as the World War II Memorial.

One also has to wonder where Lee Santa gets the idea that the Republicans cut the Veterans Administration budget “significantly.”

Republicans are generally in favor and vote accordingly for reducing spending, but have not picked on the VA for cuts, but the Democrats generally package cuts favored by Republicans with increases, often massive, of liberal programs, such as good stamps, the issuance of which has soared since Obama’s first inauguration.

Santa’s last graph suggesting that any veteran voting Republican is spitting on veterans. As the majority of veterans vote Republican, including this writer, let me suggest that Lee Santa needs to do some fact checking prior to submitting his next letter.
