Toys for Tots nearly reached fundraising goal

SANDPOINT — The final number is in — the 2012 Toys for Tots

campaign brought in $48,341.73.

Although the Sandpoint Lions fundraiser came up a bit short of its $50,000 goal, club members said some adjustments were made to address that shortfall.

Members said they are grateful to the community, which has been generous to the program with contributions of toys and money.Additional donations given after toys and food boxes were distributed on Dec. 21 and 22 include very much needed and appreciated $5,000 from Jack and Mary Jo Ambrosiani.

The couple are generous contributors to the community through the Ambrosiani Pastore Foundation, however this contribution was given personally by them to Toys for Tots.Other generous contributions include:

Anonymous, $20; Aire Poustra, $20; Winston Cook, $20; Kasey Bangman, $12.84; Nancy and Thomas Renk, $50; Robert E. Myers, $200; Lynda M. Roberts, $200; and Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce, $645.Coin jar collections include: 219, $6.37; Connie’s, $7.15; Tam O’Shanter, $4.86; Mr. Sub, $78.43; Kokanee Coffee, $33.73; Travel America Plaza, $54.42;

Stacey’s Country Kitchen, $19.35; Samuel’s Conoco, $12.02; Burger Express, $24.19; Waterfront Express, $5.13; Payday Loans, $10.84; Horizon Credit Union, $73.77; and Kootenai Sub Shop, $6.45; Westmond Store, $11.66 and Evans Brothers, $7.01. All of these donations were given in 2012.
