SANDPOINT — The new year is looking bright for three stylists and cosmetic technicians at Berta’s Boutique and Salon.

An effective combination of youthful exuberance and careful training, the three women are seeking to build a clientele in the newly-established business. Jessica Felts and Talonie Metcalf are young and fresh out of school, while Sarah Butts is an experienced hair dresser and previous owner of the Bobby Pin Salon. Each individual brings her own set of skills as contracted hair stylists and nail technicians to the boutique and salon, 528 Main. Even when the boutique is closed, the salon may be open and accessible from the rear entrance.

Butts got her start as a stylist in Washington, D.C., training at the Graham Webb Academy. She has continually trained throughout her 17-year career in the beauty industry while balancing family life with her husband, Michael, and their two sons.

Her primary goal in business is to maintain a professional service while keeping prices affordable for clients. She is available for appointments by calling 946-6541.

After graduating from Sandpoint School of Hair Design receiving her cosmetology license in January 2012, Metcalf offers a broad range of services through her business name, Tuscany Rose, specializing in hair cuts, coloring, perms, facial waxes and pedicures.

As an individual with lots of family in the area, Metcalf is eager to grow a career in the Sandpoint area and contributes to the community with work like elderly assistance.

She can be reached for appointments at 610-2079.

Felts is another young cosmetologist. She graduated from the Sandpoint School of Hair Design and received her license as a nail technician last year and is now building her professional reputation through the business name, Fairytale Nails. Her goal as a nail technician is to offer affordable prices on manicures, pedicures, acrylic and hard gel nails, and she offers discounts for seniors and students.

Felts’ specialty is custom nail art and is happy to take requests in putting together intricate nail designs. She is happy to be working in Sandpoint, the area where she grew up, while her family resides in Germany

Give her a call to set up an appointment at 304-6906.
