It's time to end nanny state care

| March 19, 2013 7:00 AM

Do you really want a nanny state? We do not need government health care. It’s an absolute step in the wrong direction. The unintended consequences are not pie in the sky and great health for all.

President Obama said he wanted a one-payer system and he knew it would have to come incrementally. What don’t you understand about that? They want it, and they’ll get it because of our ignorance and apathy. A state health exchange will “absolutely” evolve in to the Federal Affordable Health Care Act. Our state must vote no on the state health exchange, and also refuse to accept the federal system. Is the word sovereignty too difficult to comprehend? Quit complicating everything.

We can make reasonable health care affordable by working with a free market system. More competition, more urgent care, tort reform, less administrative and regulation costs, and this only scratches the surface.

Have you ever seen anything the government made better? There may be a few examples, but the far majority is a convoluted mess and a health care system will be even worse. Please think beyond tomorrow and see what a blunder this will become. It may be purported to be roses today, but tomorrow it will be just sticks with thorns. Contact your state and federal representatives and let them know this may sound good, but is a disaster for our country, our state, and those that will be using the system in years to come.
