Will theft be thought of as 'chicken feed?'

I read recently in the Daily Bee that there has (apparently) been some mishandling of funds at the Panhandle Animal Shelter. This is a very unfortunate situation but yours truly is skeptical that any charges will be pursued by the Bonner County prosecutor as the amount allegedly taken was probably just … “chicken feed?”
