Pair of Wampus Cats garner All-NSL honors

CLARK FORK — Senior co-captains Lyndsie Kiebert and Annie Wurm gave Clark Fork two players on the All-North Star League girls basketball team, as voted on recently by the league’s coaches.

Kiebert averaged 13 points, four rebounds and two assists for the Wampus Cats, and eclipsed the 20 point barrier four times, with a season-high of 28 points against Mullan. Her strength was attacking the basket and getting to the rim.

Wurm anchored the blocks for the Wampus Cats, averaging six points and five rebounds a game, while usually guarding the opposing team’s best post player.

Head coach Mark Stevens said he put the pair in the same category as senior leaders.

“I watched their work, and within the first two weeks of practice, I picked them both as team captains because of their hard work and dedication,” said Stevens. “They’re at every practice, and good examples for the young kids on the court.”
