American Young appears on 'Bachelorette'

SANDPOINT — It’s no easy matter to plan the perfect date, but the people behind ABC’s popular reality show “The Bachelorette” know a thing or two.
For instance, what better way to set the mood than a live musical performance from a talented pair of musicians? Luckily, the ABC executives chose well. They requested country duo American Young, consisting of Sandpoint native Kristy Thomas and her writing and performing partner Jon Stone, perform their new single “Love is War” for this season’s June 30 episode. The episode premiered Monday night, prompting some pre-broadcast butterflies from Thomas — especially considering she had no idea how the performance would translate to TV.
