Let's work together and keep '50s rockin'

| May 13, 2014 7:00 AM

Last week I reached out to the city of Sandpoint requesting help for Lost in the ’50s. I asked for relief from city fees and possible “benefit” from the beer garden that will be in Farmin Park.

I received a very pleasant and timely response from Sandpoint Mayor Carrie Logan, explaining the help the city does provide Lost in the ’50s. The city of Sandpoint has helped Lost in the ’50s with additional police and clean up for the event, each year, and has not charged us. After communicating with the mayor I realized that I should have done a better job of fact finding regarding the city and fees before I spoke.

This is an amazing event, bringing folks from all around our country and many from Canada to this beautiful little town. Each year many local businesses and nonprofits use Lost in the ’50s to kick off their summer season and fundraising. Let’s all work together to keep Lost in the ’50s rockin’ in Sandpoint.
