| November 28, 2014 6:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Senior linebacker/running back Tyler Harris (Defensive Player of the Year), junior running back Kyle Perry (Offensive Newcomer of the Year) and junior tackle Carlos Collodo (Offensive Lineman of the Year) headlined a strong showing for the Bulldogs on the 4A Inland Empire League Football Team, as voted on recently by the league’s coaches.

Harris was a force on both sides of the ball, also earning a spot on the all-league offense, averaging more than 11 yards per carry and 30 yards a catch as a running back, while also excelling in the return game. Senior Josh Suto also earned a spot on both sides of the ball for his strong play on the lines.

All told, 12 Bulldogs landed spots on the all-league team. Sandpoint head coach Satini Puailoa on what each player did to earn a spot on the team.

• Kyle Perry (1,535 yards rushing, 26 touchdowns): “He’s as strong as some of our linemen, but runs a 11.3 100 meters. He’s made himself into a running back that nobody wants to deal with. He came of age as the season went along.”

• Tyler Harris (498 yards rushing, 451 yards kick returns, 155 yards receiving, eight touchdowns): “He has such a tremendous skill set, and the best hands on the team. Just a football player, has a natural sense for the game. Had a fantasy football season on both sides of the ball. Fans got a chance to watch one of the more versatile athletes in the history of the school.”

• Carlos Collado: “Our best lineman, at 6-4, 230 pounds. He’s real explosive and athletic, and he takes a lot of pride in the process. His footwork, his pad level, just a complete player.”

• Billy Webber: “Mainstay of what it means to play in this system. Was a real force, as solid as they come.”

• Josh Suto: “He did everything, great drive blocker and he could pass protect. In the second half of our season, the right side of the line was as good as the left.”

• Sam Palmer: “Him and Josh are clones. He had really good feet. At 6-1, 250 pounds he could run, a prototype pulling guard. He could trap, pull and go hunt down athletic linebackers.”

• Nate Loutzenhiser (95-102, 1,823 yards and 18 touchdown passes): “His mental toughness and his work ethic. He just grinds. He’s thrown for more than 3,400 yards and 33 touchdowns in the last two years. Everything had to grow around Nate.”

• Wyatt McCormick (20 catches, 620 yards and seven touchdowns): “Athletically the best guy on our team. He could do some amazing things. You watch him, and you say ‘Holy cow, did I just see that?’”

• Matthew Timothy (33 catches for 639 yards, seven touchdowns): “Our best receiver. A leader with great work ethic. He was our best route runner.”

• Quinn Pearlstein: “The best team captain I’ve had. He became an extension of us. Very smart, but also very emotional. He and Harris were one of the best linebacking duos we’ve ever had here. He played at a high level every single game.”

• Troy Oliver Mitton: “Very rangy and extremely smart. He got better every week and was playing at an extremely high level.”

• Paul Sundquist: “He could have been our starting quarterback. Smart, a leader, always about getting better. The last half of the season he was playing at an all-state level. The leader of his class.”

• Davan Norris: “He’d always been a quarterback, and had a very interesting skill set. He ended up making a lot of big plays from the safety position.”
