SANDPOINT — The conviction stands against a Bonner County woman who was charged with possessing methamphetamine after being pulled over for not having mud flaps on her pickup truck.

Jodie Marie Edwards was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy for the equipment violation in 2013. She was arrested on an outstanding warrant and her vehicle was inventoried, which turned up meth, marijuana and a pipe.

Counsel for Edwards, also known as Jodie Dill, moved to suppress the drug evidence on grounds that the stop was unconstitutional. The defense argued that the vehicle had legally sufficient factory built bumpers.
