CLARK FORK — Geoffry Boudousquie and Eich Anderson combined for 42 points, dominating the paint as the Wampus Cat boys notched a 63-60 win over Mullan in North Star League boys basketball Thursday night at Clark Fork High School.

Anderson earned a second straight double-double with 20 points and 13 boards, and Boudousquie scored 20 points and swatted three shots for the Wampus Cats (3-4, 2-0 NSL), who earned a season sweep of the Tigers.

Cats head coach Corey Vogel praised the play of his bigs, as well as point guard Brandan Bowen, who tallied 13 points, seven assists and five steals in a strong showing.

“I liked how they were looking for each other. They’re really starting to click together as a unit and that’s fun to see,” said Vogel. “We’ve been trying to get it into our posts and let them control the game. I’m proud of the boys for keeping their poise and pulling out a win.”

T.J. Placencio led the Tigers (1-5) with a game-high 25 points, with most of it coming in the third quarter, where the Tigers held a 25-18 edge as the Cats struggled from the line.

Clark Fork hosts Kootenai on Saturday, looking to remain undefeated in league play.

CLARK FORK — Robin Trogden scored 25 points and nailed five 3-pointers, leading Mullan to a 52-27 win over the short-handed Wampus Cats in North Star League girls basketball Tuesday night at Clark Fork High School.

Leslie Kiebert and Samantha Gors each scored eight to lead the Wampus Cats (1-6, 0-3 NSL), who were outscored 15-0 in the fourth quarter after keeping the game close into the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately Gors rolled her ankle in the third quarter, leaving Clark Fork with just six healthy players. Nona Young added four points and 12 rebounds and Allison Warner five steals in defeat.

“I felt like we played right with them, but they put the press on in the second half,” said Cats head coach Mark Stevens, who praised the play of Mullan’s Charli Sadler. “She’s a good player who looks at the court really well.”

Sadler finished with 10 points, 15 boards, six steals and four assists, and Kayla Gribble pulled down 10 rebounds for the Tigers (4-6).

“Robin had an unbelievable game. She had confidence in shooting tonight,” said Tigers head coach Sherry Leitz. “Charli is just an all around great player and leader.”
