Bulldogs sweep Hawks in home swimming opener
SANDPOINT — A host of Bulldogs swimmers won events, as the Bulldog girls won 87-29 and the Bulldog boys won 68-43 in a home opening dual meet against Lakeland on Wednesday at the SWAC pool.
Emily Hieronymus, Hanna Kozlowski, Kate Matlosz, Sierra Speakman and Payton Bokowy each picked up wins to lead the girls team, while Miles Luce, Garrett Bamer, Seth Bamer and Ben Reich notched wins for the boys team.
The aforementioned boys will join Ellie McCray, Bokowy, Kozlowski, Speakman and Hieronymus on multiple relays during a big meet this weekend in Boise, where head coach Mike Brosnahan is taking an abbreviated team down to compete.
“It’s a chance to swim against the fastest teams in Boise,” said Brosnahan, who should get a state-caliber look in the meet at the Boise YMCA, where state is held. “We wanted to take our fastest kids.”
