City administrator post necessary in Sandpoint

As a resident of Sandpoint, I’d like to publicly state that I support the City Council’s decision to hire a city administrator. It appears that those who oppose the decision fail to understand that the city has a budget of more than $31 million. An underpaid (practically a volunteer) mayor who may or may not devote the required time to oversee that budget and the various department heads is no longer the answer. A private firm with a budget that size certainly has an administrator (CEO, CFO, president) overseeing the nuts and bolts, and that person is compensated accordingly.
