Skate park sets competition date

SANDPOINT — Attention all skateboarders, scooter riders and anyone else who enjoys the Concrete Lake at Travers Park: the King of the Kongcrete competition will take place Aug. 20.

The 11th annual event will take place at the skate park, with skaters of all ages from around the region on hand to perform tricks and all kinds of aerials.

The event starts at noon and goes until finished at the Concrete Lake Skate Park, 2102 Pine St. Registration will be at the park from 10 a.m.-noon; the entry fee is $15. Helmets required for all competitors, knee, elbow, and wrist pads are highly recommended.
