LOCAL PARAGRAPHS

Mrs. A.H. Dyer, who has been in this city since the disappearance of Mr. Dyer, the secretary of the commercial club, left unexpectedly last Thursday and the supposition is that she intends to join Mr. Dyer, who is in Portland or some other of the large coast cities.

August Fox of Laclede, whose ranch is partly overflowed land, was in the city yesterday. He says the high water is so late this year that he has not yet been able to cut a large part of his wild hay. Mr. Fox also said the high water carried lots of silt this year, which, while good for the land, makes haying a more disagreeable job.

Anticipating trouble in the future between the city and the water company, City Attorney Conner handed the council his resignation, saying he was already in the employ of the water company.
