SANDPOINT — Rick Myers was recently appointed executive director at Life Care Center of Sandpoint, a skilled nursing and rehab facility.

“The staff is great here,” said Myers.

“They share my philosophy that we are here for the residents; the residents aren’t here for us.”

Myers comes to Life Care Center of Sandpoint from a skilled nursing facility in Long Beach, Calif., where he worked as administrator. He pursued a career in long-term care after serving in law enforcement for 23 years.

“Rick brings with him a dedication to serve the most vulnerable,” said Michael Moses, vice president of Life Care Centers of America’s Frontier Region, which oversees the company’s facilities in Idaho and Spokane.

“I know that he will be a great asset to those whom he serves and works with in North Idaho.”

Originally from Los Angeles County, California, Myers earned his bachelor’s degree in occupational studies from California State University in Long Beach. He lives in Sandpoint with his wife, Lisa, and their 14-year-old twins.

Life Care Center of Sandpoint, located at 1125 N. Division St., is one of eight facilities in Idaho operated or managed by Life Care Centers of America.

Founded in 1976, Life Care is a nationwide health care company. With headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee, Life Care operates or manages more than 200 nursing, post-acute and Alzheimer’s centers in 28 states.
