John H. Howard, 89

John H. Howard, 89, World War II veteran, died on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

John is survived by his loving family: Shirley Howard, his wife of 65 years; his children, Judy Jones (Kyle Jones), and Jeff Howard (Patty Grandos); his son-in-law, Ed Baran; his grandchildren, Sam Baran (Franchesca Baran), Jacob Baran (Melissa Baran), Cydney Jones, Ben Howard, and Alihna Grandos; and his great-granddaughter, Sophie Baran.

He is also survived by nephews and nieces. John was loved and cherished by his family and friends.

There are no words for how much he will be missed.

John was preceded in death by his and Shirley’s daughter, Patsy Baran.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at 4 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 526 S. Olive Ave., Sandpoint, ID 83864.
