Herman 'Tex' Crawford

| August 25, 2016 1:00 AM

Herman ‘Tex’ Crawford passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2016.

Born in Driftwood, Texas, to Annie Freible Crawford and Felix Crawford, he was a big-hearted country boy who, in his 90 years, served in the Air Force through Korea and Vietnam, raised three children, and watched country move from Model Ts to Teslas, and from vacuum tubes to massively integrated circuits. His passions were hunting, fishing and fixing things, and prior to his marriage, motorcycles.

He is survived by three children, Barbara, Paul and Dave; as well as two grandchildren, Emily and Andrea Crawford. His wife, Geraldine, preceded him in death by five years.

Tex was one of the millions of the greatest generation, making the country great by the sweat of their labors. He was a beloved father, husband and friend. We will miss him deeply.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jon Pomeroy from the Sandpoint Church of God officiating.

Family and friends are invited to sign Herman’s online guestbook at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service of Sandpoint.
