Maryjo Baker, 72, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, in Ponderay, Idaho.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Spokane, Wash., at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016.

Maryjo was born on Sept. 16, 1943, in Reno, Nev., to Stephen and Loris Mitchell. She spent most of her life living in Spokane, and she graduated from Lewis & Clark High School. Maryjo married Gary Baker on Dec. 31, 1964, in Georgia.

She attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed handwork, crocheting, crossword puzzles, arts and crafts, reading, watching soap operas, slot machines, car racing, and grandbabies. She moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in November 2012 because of her failing health.

She is survived by a daughter, Shannon Baker of Ponderay, Idaho; three sons, Patrick Baker of Orlando, Fla., Corey (Shelley) Baker of Grand Coulee, Wash., and Sandy (Brandy) Baker of Coving-ton, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Desiree (Robert), Mary (Matt), Katrina, Tiffany, Nicole, Colton, and Chase; two great-grandchildren, Deianira (Jordan) and Nicholas; a brother, Jim (Ruth) Mitchell of Grand Junction, Colo.; and two sisters, Susan Roseberry of Spokane and Stephany Christensen of Spokane. Also surviving are special friends Shelly and Mike Goode and Dan and Susie Groom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary Baker in 2003, and two brothers-in-law, Eric Baker and Dick Christensen.
