Free fat bike demo on tap Sunday at Schweitzer

| December 2, 2016 12:00 AM

SANDPOINT — Global Fat Bike Day is Dec. 3, but Greasy Fingers Bikes N Repair is celebrating on Sunday, Dec. 4 with a free fat bike demo at the Schweitzer Roundabout and group rides on the Selkirk Rec District trails.

In its 5th year, Global Fat Bike Day is just like it sounds, a day to celebrate and ride fat bikes. Greasy Fingers and The Source at Schweitzer will be offering free fat bike demos on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for you to ride in the snow on a beginner course from the Roundabout. There are no kids bikes, and participants must be 18 and older to ride.

Then at 1:30 p.m. there will be fat bike group rides using the Selkirk Rec District bike trails surrounding the roundabout. Get your fat bike ready, meet up and join in for an intermediate level ride for about 1.5 hours on a variation of groomed roads and trails in the roundabout area.

Need a fat bike for the group ride? Call Greasy Fingers ahead of time at 255-4496 and reserve one of their rentals for $20, which will be available at 1:30 p.m. after the demos.

Greasy Fingers will have hot drinks and hot dogs on site to keep you warm and fueled up. Bring your own bike to join the fun or call Greasy Fingers now to learn more and to reserve your bike for the group ride!

For questions, call (208) 255-4496 or email Brian@GreasyFingersBikes.com.
