Thank you for your recent editorial support of the proposed Scotchman Peaks wilderness. Your clarity, and that of our Bonner County commissioners and many thousands of others has led to the introduction by Sen. James Risch of a congressional bill.

Wilderness areas have been shown to be prime drivers of a vibrant economy in areas such as ours, enabling more of our children and grandchildren to work here. Many firms will be better able to attract and retain employees with the recreational opportunities and the values that a designated wilderness represents.
